About the Congress
The 7th National Cycling Congress will be hosted by the German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure in collaboration with the Authority for Transport and New Mobility of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. Due to the corona pandemic, this year’s congress will be held completely digitally.
The National Cycling Congress was initiated by the Federal Ministry of Transport in 2009. It is the most important congress on the topic of cycling in Germany and is hosted every other year at various locations. Experts from the fields of planning, academia, industry, public authorities, societies and associations will discuss topical issues and challenges as well as opportunities and potential inherent in the shaping process for the future of cycling. The congress is particularly addressed to those professionals who are designing and planning cycle traffic infrastructure. The highlights of the programme include, among other things, the presentation of the new 3.0 National Cycling Plan and the awarding of the German Cycling Prize.
The National Cycling Congress is aimed at experts. It is open to public sector entities, private-sector corporations and associations as well as individuals whose field of work is cycling, transport and/or mobility or any other field closely linked to cycling.
