Anton Nikitin currently is Chief City Engineer of Vilnius. In 2015 he came to office as a Cycling Officer and had been driving the shift of the city towards sustainable mobility ever since. During the time, Vilnius cycling network almost tripled and went from 40 to 110 km while red asphalt paths became a new standard. With that, new approaches to walking infrastructure have also been implemented. Responsible for all the infrastructure development, Anton is now leading a project of making new comprehensive streetscape design guide to increase the quality requirements for the streets and make a leap for them to become more livable, safe and comfortable.
